Portlane
Portlane is a gateway-neutral platform for companies that expose APIs to partners. It gives integrators a proper developer portal, sandbox credentials and live request logs, and gives the platform team one place to approve, monitor and support them.

The brief
Most partner onboarding is a PDF, a shared inbox and a spreadsheet of keys. The work is in making the safe path the easy one: scoped credentials, signed webhooks, clear status pages and observability that both sides can read, without tying a company to one API gateway.
What we built
- Product design
- Platform architecture
- Web app
- API design
- 01Three surfaces on one codebase: a public portal for docs and sign-up, a partner console for keys, webhooks and logs, and an operator area for approvals and support.
- 02A gateway adapter layer, starting with Kong, so the platform works with the gateway a company already runs.
- 03Request analytics on ClickHouse with OpenTelemetry traces, so a partner and the platform team are looking at the same evidence.
- 04Patterns from years of running external APIs in production: idempotent mutations, signed payloads, retries with backoff and a dead-letter queue.
Where it is now
- Portal, partner console, operator area and an interactive demo in active development.
